LOADING INSTRUCTIONS FOR THOSE CURRENTLY ON 4.7.7

EXIT ALL WINDOWS APPLICATIONS PRIOR TO STARTING THESE INSTRUCTIONS
The update will automatically rebuild your table indexes prior to updating tables. This is done to avoid table update errors in an index is not date-synchronized with its table.
Your Login needs to have "administrative rights" in order for the update to load completely to the workstation.
Make sure that you have made a backup of your database.

Select the loading option below that best fits your needs.

Loading the Update using the Web Update menu.
(No CD required but high-speed connection recommended.)
Loading a NEW workstation that did not have SLICE loaded previously.

The most important load is the Workstation (Executables) which run the program and create/modify your data base tables. Executables are now loaded to the server and workstations automatically update from the server as you logon. It is no longer necessary to load the workstation update on each workstation. Load it once to the server and then logon each workstation and you will be prompted to update that workstations executables.

Secondly, review the Documentation. Review the Read Me document for loading instructions and Correction/Enhancement Highlights and theRelease Notes document for all corrections and enhancements.

Also, once the update is complete, all SLICEplus manuals are now available by clicking 'View/Print Manuals" under Help on the main screen.

The 4.8.8 update may take some time to process. Under NO CIRCUMSTANCES should you press Ctrl-Alt-Delete. If you have concerns about the processing time, call HelpDesk.
